Had a character sheet lying around, so I want to create a cute artwork for the character that I’ve designed (back in early 2021).

Furthermore, this is the first time I’m paying attention to the shapes of the background art which I try to make it as fluffy and cutesy as possible with the rounded shapes all over the image. Colors are also readjusted to make sure it is vibrandtbut well balanced with color hierarchy around (Red is the focus, blue is tertiary, green is secondary). And of course, all of the elements placed in the background are positioned in a certain way that leads the viewer to the character: from the mountains to the road side slope with the tree, and then highlighted by the cloud formation just underlapping the character artwork.

To conclude, I’m very pleased with the result, the artwork encapsulates the bravery of the first adventure combined with the world that is all fluff and cutesy.

Additional note: Mood and some design decisions are influenced by Atelier Ryza series artworks by Toridamono.
